The Steve Weiss brand hand-held crank siren is the perfect solution to all of your musical siren needs. Made out of a heavy duty “fire” red plastic cover with professional quality inside siren mechanisms, this hand held siren will travel easily to anywhere a siren is needed.

This siren has the hand dampener feature to quickly and easily dampen the siren sound for those passages in music that need to go from triple forte to almost silent in a flick of a finger. Also included is a cool colored carry bag that can fit around your waist for quick and easy access to all your siren musical parts.

This hand siren measures approximately 6″ × 6″ and weighs just 1/3 of a pound, making it easily playable and transportable for almost anyone.

Just bought this for use in Foley effects for silent film project. I remember these were hard to come by whenever someone was trying to perform anything by Varese. This Chinese made siren works well and is plenty loud.

In response to the other reviewers, the guys at Steve Weiss Music explained to me that this is a real siren, not something made just for music. The manufacturer includes the camo bag because in parts of the world this siren is used for actual military use.

Quite fine siren makes the sounds a siren should

The finest crank siren $60 can buy. It's working out fantastically for the recording project for which I needed it, and it is slowly finding its way into a prominent role in several other projects. I never thought I'd get so much use out of (and have so much fun with) a siren. Definitely one of the most fun instruments I own. Also, it came with a peculiar little camouflage carrying bag. Hm.

Hand Crank Siren

Purchased for a sound effect in a live concert. Works fine for what it is, even though there were some sharp edges i needed to file down before use. Would you believe the carry bag is camouflage patterned?! I'm still trying to figure that one out. It would be more professional if the bag came in black.

Exactly what I needed, for the price of $60. No way I could have afforded the full sized one, but the hand held one is very loud and so far is holding up!!!
